Renovations!

Writer's picture: Blue RiversBlue Rivers

Few renovations happening on the main grounds while our kiddo was out helping Dire and escorting our new dog (plus doggy houseguest!) home.

Torn down most of the old stable and are turning it into office space, indoor kennels, indoor doggy play area, visitation/behavioural testing room, & an enclosed outdoor play area for the rescues we're evaluating for placement. These kennels are not meant to be permanent residences, more-so a space to keep the dogs while they interact with us, our dogs, and their possible new owners. It's just a bit more stable than keeping them lodged in our rescues main kennel once they're preparing to transition to their new homes.

We're boarding more horses than usual now that we're getting our Road Dog training up and running so we needed the bigger space. The horses are loving it, lots of room to move around, more seclusion from the general activity going on around the grounds, and it opens up right into the back of our property and onto some of their favourite trails.

And we torn down the old kennel building! We're rebuilding with a far bigger on-site vet to celebrate the news that our vet, Nevaeh, will be moving her practise onto our grounds so that we have 24/7 service. A big change that's been in the works for quite awhile, but with the way our pack is growing we new that it was a necessary move

In addition to the new vet office, grooming station and outdoor play area, we're rebuilding the kennel to better fit the variety of dogs we now house! They'll still have free run of the grounds, just as they always have, but we need the kennel space for when we're travelling or getting new dogs adjusted. We are so much happier with how this building is coming together and can't wait for it to finally be finished!
