Welcome to the world 'Coffee' litter!
We got the call early this morning that Gemma had gone into labour, as we've currently got a house full of puppies, only Mor and Diane made the trip along with our vet Neveah over to Sera's place to help keep an eye on things.
Only a few minor complications, mostly having to do with our fifth surprise pup, and an otherwise smooth whelping for our favourite girl.
Gem whelped five healthy, strong puppies - 2 Males and 3 Females, with a wonderful mixture of dark sable, solid black, and a single bicolour in the bunch.
The 5th girl, Teal Collar, was our big surprise when things got going. All our ultrasounds were incredibly clear (or so we thought) and up until Neveah turned around to realise that Gem was pushing out one more pup closely on the heels of the previous, we were positive that she would only be having four.
No runts in this bunch! Everyone is strong, hearty, and meeting their weight gain goals without issue. It's been wonderful to have such a smooth recovery period for everyone, considering the issues we've had with latching and casualties in our last few litters, Gem is resting happily and quickly growing tired of all the extra attention.
