Gabby came to us, freshly a year old and having been only just started in her Junior circuit, not long before we officially got Blue Rivers up and running.

Not necessarily a rough start but the owner she had been with previously just didn’t have it in them to find what made our girl tick. We were lucky enough to, quite literally, bump into her breeder – a lovely woman from Canada with many years of experience with the breed – who took one look at our rag-tag family, fell in love with Lee and decided that we’d be a great fit if we were looking for a young bitch.

A wonderful addition to our family, we also struggled a bit with finding what she really needed to perform well resulting in a pretty lacklustre start to her career. Once we found it though she was off, preforming spectacularly with multiple BIS and BOO placements and winning not only the National Championships with the SIKC but the Select Bitch nomination from the SIKC’s World Championships.

Gab is a sweet-natured girl and a bit of a couch potato, happy to curl up with her chosen person once work is done. Even so she has a really fantastic drive, keen nose, and quick thinking nature.

She’s whelped 3 litters, all producing solid offspring that all have a bit of her own gentle, inquisitive nature paired with the high drive while also having been a stand-in or wet nurse for puppies that have come in through the rescue or if we have a dam that rejects or can’t nurse. She absolutely loves puppies and is a solid, soft touched, mum that makes sure to set her offspring, fostered or not, up for success.

She's been a joy to work and we'll sorely miss her presence in the ring.
