Board &
Training Facility
Earning Experience
Experience can be earned both actively by participating in event days and passively by participating in RNG event days.
While experience gain will be tracked on our end we absolutely expect you to track your dogs XP gain and be aware of what Training Phase your dog has qualified for.
Failing Grades
No dog is 100% perfect all of the time and not every dog is truly suited for the type of things we train for. While in an active training period dogs have specific amounts of "Fail" rolls that they can receive before they've failed out of the current Testing Phase.
Once they've failed out once they'll have one last chance as a "Problem Boarder" in which they'll receive extra attention and a behaviour re-assessment to determine if they truly do have the aptitude for the discipline they're being trained in.
A second "Fail" out of a Testing Phase will render the dog ineligible to earn any titles for that specific discipline from our facility.
RP Rolls
These sorts of rolls are included for all steps in each Training Phase and may have a positive (bonus XP gain) or negative (lower XP gain) results.
RP Rolls include things such as how the dog responded on the day of testing to varying degrees that may be as simple as shying from the decoy or responding without hesitation to misdirected aggression towards handlers or minor injuries (injuries will never be so bad as to critical wound a dog or negatively impact their future in competing or showing unless such rolls have been cleared and agreed upon OOC).
Required Experience
Each Training Phase will have a maximum total of XP that can be earned, which will not be known. A 'Passing Grade' will only be rolled once the overall maximum has reached at least 50% of the overall total.
Story related RP events (RNG) will grant a maximum of +5 XP should the dog roll positively. A schedule of when events happen will be released once a training period has started and may be entered at any point until the Training Period has closed.
A bonus of +5 XP may also be earned through highly positive rolls for non-RNG events.
ie. if Phase One has a hidden total of 200 max earnable experience no less than 100 total experience must be earned from both Behaviour Assessment and Training Introductions portions in order to have a chance at a "Pass/Fail Roll".
Behaviour Qualifiers
Behaviour qualifiers are important aspects of making sure that not only are dogs steady enough to handle the high stress, high intensity of their training but that they're suburb examples of their breeds in general.
Behaviour & Personality Assessment (BHP)
Aimed to give a summary of how these dogs react and handle in various situations. A 30 minute to a one-hour exam is given in separate parts where a dog encounters various strangers, playing, searching for food, reaction to gunshots, and other stimuli. A passed BHP awards a dog a max of +7 XP for all testing phases.
Breed Specific Inspections (BSI)
The BSI is an inspection to make sure the dog is in-standard, clear of any outstanding risks and a test of his alertness. These tasks vary depending on each breed. A passed BSI awards a dog a max of +7 XP for all testing phases.
Final Assessment (Example)
Bark is still maturing. (+10)
He's an opportunistic biter, eager to take the sleeve though quick to redirect if something more interesting presents itself. (+5)
Bites high and deep. (+20) (+5)
Handlers nerves unsettled the dog. (+0)
Dog shied from decoy initially, once settled no further issues. (+10)
Experience Earned: 50
Extra Experience: +5 (COA-SIKC) +7 BSI
Total Score: 62
Trial Assessment: (Pass Roll - BITA Earned) While there are clearly still things to be worked on dog did well during his training, exhibiting a solid understanding of the basics, and has been deemed steady enough to progress to Phase Two.
this is an example! the listed earned XP gain is theoretical and does not reflect the true testing experience awarded per phase.
