Our Programs
Primary Focus
Storsjön was originally conceived to be a facility with a primary focus is working with Protection, Police, and Combat dogs both in training them from pups and making sure both dog and handler/owner continue to be equipped to work in harmony at their jobs.
Thanks to the wonderful help of the Flod family we've been able to spend the last decade branching out into other avenues and now have just as strong of a focus on solid Obedience as it relates to the more intense jobs, general Bitework, as well as beginning to house dogs that actively compete in French Ring, Mondoring, Schutzhund, with a recent move into some general hunting.
Nosework & Tracking
Encouraging your dogs natural talents to pickup scents and locating the source of it be it hunting, search and rescue, police and military work, or simply some hobby scenting.
This isn't an obedience-based activity, few commands are given during our higher levels of training relying instead on the dog to know when to single at the correct location.
Schutzhund, Mondio, French Ring
These disciplines are high-stress disciplines that one really should not just jump into at a whim and we absolutely hold owners to the same high standard that we expect from these dogs.
Health and temperament testing is a crucial aspect to making sure dogs focused in any of these disciplines and is a crucial foundation of our own training programs.
There's no room in our programs for dogs that are poorly bred or unable to turn off once work is done.
